City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 14, 2017 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />The City Council adjourned to executive session at 5:12 p.m. <br />The City Council special meeting reconvened at 6:55 p.m. <br />REPORT FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />DISCUSSION/ DIRECTION/ACTION —CITY MANAGER RECRUITMENT <br />City Attorney Light reported in executive session, staff provided City Council information <br />with regards to a potential real property acquisition and developed strategy with respect <br />to that. Staff will proceed with the direction given. If there is an agreement in principle it <br />will be presented in an open meeting for Council consideration. <br />On the second matter concerning City Manager recruitment and personnel matter, <br />Council would like to discuss and identify a potential pool of candidates to invite for <br />Council interviews in early December. <br />Councilmember Loo noted the Council appointed a work group of herself and <br />Councilmember Maloney and after much study; they are making a recommendation to <br />appoint to an interview pool, candidates numbered 1,2,3,4 and 5. Councilmember <br />Maloney seconded the recommendation. All in favor. <br />City Attorney Light noted the recruiting firm the City is working with will contact the <br />candidates and determine their desire to remain in the pool. December 4th at the Arts <br />Center there will be a public open house to meet the candidates and on December 6th <br />there will be interviews open to the public at City Hall. <br />Councilmember Leh noted the candidates were referred to by number tonight to give <br />them time to be contacted and express their desire to proceed to the public process. <br />ADJOURN <br />Members adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br />Meredyth Muth, City Clerk <br />47 <br />Robert P.
