Youth Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
11/2/17
their projects more either with social media or posters around town. She also
said they could use help from teens if they are looking to volunteer. Overall, Katie
coming in to talk to the board was a neat way to hear about all the youth activities
going on in Louisville.
Nominations- Nominations for the 2017-2018 board consisted of Kendall
Weideman running for secretary unopposed, Addison Nakari and Caelis Hanna
running for Vice Chair, with Addison Nakari winning the elections, and Kaylix
McClure running unopposed for Chair.
Upcoming Volunteer Projects- The upcoming volunteer projects are 11/14 food
drive with Community Food Share (at the King Soopers on 287 and Baseline)
and 12/7 Pancakes with Santa, and our meeting date moved to 12/14 because
Pancakes with Santa is on our meeting date!
Discussion of Goals for the Coming Year- This year the Youth Advisory
Board's full year project is to perform Random Acts of Kindness and/or get the
word out about doing random acts of kindness. A few ideas we had for Random
Acts of Kindness are putting notes on random cars, shoveling for neighbors, and
take flowers to an organization or hospital. How we would promote Random Acts
of Kindness would consist of flyers at the Rec Center, local businesses, sidewalk
chalk! Also, we have assigned a duty to the Vice Chair of taking care of YAB's
social media presence. We would like people to be able to submit random acts of
kindness digitally or with a hashtag.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting- Discussion items for the next meeting
include; January being an open month for volunteering, and marketing random
acts of kindness.
Adjourn — The meeting was adjourned at 8pm.
