Louisville City Council Meeting <br />December 7, 2004 <br />Page 11 ofll <br /> <br />Kathy Kron, Land Management Project Manager updated Council on the Community <br />Park Project and the Skate Park Project. Council members Van Pelt voiced her concern <br />over the Community Park budget. Council member Keany inquired as to the opening <br />date of the Skate Park. Kron stated the projected date for substantial completion is <br />December 23, 2004. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd updated Council on the planning process of new Library. <br />Council member Van Pelt voiced her concern over the Library Project budget. Mayor <br />Sisk reported the next Library Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, <br />December 15, at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported the December 14, 2004 study session agenda includes <br />the Via Appia Traffic Study, and a meeting with Representative Tom Plant. He informed <br />Council of the backlog of final inspections for the roofing work in the City. He <br />authorized two Public Works employees to assist in the inspections and overtime for the <br />inspectors to help alleviate the backlog. He reported the Business Revitalization <br />Committee has scheduled a meeting for Thursday, December 9. He informed Council that <br />TransFirst, a credit card and bankcard transaction processor, recently established its <br />regional headquarters on Centennial Parkway. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported on a bill that was passed by Congress, which includes $500,000 for <br />the McCaslin/US 36 Interchange, is awaiting President Bush's signature. He thanked <br />Heather Balser for her work on the project. He also thanked Representatives Udall and <br />Beauprez and Senator Allard for their support. He reported on an EIS US 36 meeting <br />scheduled with Governor Owens. He also reported that Planning Commissioner Debra <br />Kalish has announced her resignation in January of 2005. He explained the January 11 <br />work session will be utilized for interviews for Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />Co~Keany.
