City Council Finance Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />11/27/17 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />to spend, but that the City should fully utilize all monies budgeted when there is <br />ample need for additional work to be done. <br />Accountant Clark reviewed the latest financial statement for the Water Fund stating <br />that many projects came in lower than what was budgeted, but also that some <br />projects will not be finalized until January. <br />The Finance Committee reviewed the Golf Course Fund, and Committee Members <br />and staff discussed the financial benefit to the Fund by using raw water for the golf <br />course. City Manager Balser stated she would have staff work towards a policy <br />and fee for the use of raw water and bring the issue forward at a future date. <br />The reports and corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of the <br />November 27, 2017 Finance Committee Meeting. <br />CASH & INVESTMENTS AT OCTOBER 31, 2017 <br />Finance Director Kevin Watson presented the investment reports to the Finance <br />Committee <br />The reports and corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of the <br />November 27, 2017 Finance Committee Meeting. <br />LIST OF BILLS <br />The Finance Committee had no questions. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING <br />The next regular Finance Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December <br />19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. <br />Ashley Stolzmann, Finance Committee Chairperson, asked staff if the joint <br />meeting with the Water Committee scheduled for 7:30 a.m., December 18, 2017, <br />would be a Special City Council Meeting, stating that other Council Members may <br />be interested in attending. City Manager Balser confirmed that it would be a <br />Special City Council Meeting. Ms. Balser stated there will be a conversation on <br />the current status of the utility rates, and a review of staff item crossover and <br />related duties. Director Watson stated a review of roles and responsibilities will be <br />an agenda item. <br />Chairperson Stolzmann stated that she would like the necessary staff in <br />attendance at the meeting to discuss Capital Projects, budget tracking and <br />dashboards. Mayor Muckle added that he would like the Utility Fund Financial <br />Statements added for discussion. <br />6 <br />
