L <br />Cityof <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />November 14, 2017 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 PM <br />The City Council met in a study session at 7:00 p.m. in the 1st Floor Meeting <br />Room at the Louisville Public Library at 951 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado. <br />The following persons were present: <br />City Council Present: <br />Staff Present: <br />Members of Public <br />Mayor Bob Muckle <br />Council member Chris Leh <br />Council member Susan Loo <br />Council member Dennis Maloney <br />Council member Ashley Stolzmann <br />Heather Balser, Deputy City Manager <br />Megan Davis, Intergovernmental Affairs Director <br />Emily Hogan, Assistant to the City Manager <br />Kurt Kowar, Public Works Director <br />Katie Zoss, Cultural Arts and Special Events <br />Coordinator <br />Rob Zuccaro, Director of Planning and Building Safety <br />Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City <br />Manager <br />Call to Order— The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Mayor Muckle <br />Discussion — Draft Public Art Policy <br />Cultural Arts and Special Events Coordinator, Katie Zoss gave an overview of the <br />Draft Public Art Policy saying it seeks to create a policy that can manage new <br />and existing public art and apply best practices for public art projects <br />Zoss said the plan must include a complimentary policy to remove art that is no <br />longer suitable. Examples of this would be if a piece is in disrepair or no longer <br />fits the guiding principles. <br />Council member Loo is fine with the guiding principles as long as we recognize <br />they can be contradictory.
