LCC's accountant, Tara. Our 2009 grant from SCFD will be about $3500 +10%.
IX -City Report
Councilperson Frost Yarnell was assisted by Noah Yarnell in reporting that the budget
session for the Council is soon, and that she will have more information at that time.
X -City Staff Report
Julie Seydel reminded members that open city trainings would be at 7:00 PM on
November 5th, and 8:30 AM on November 6th
Julie provided keys to the Arts Center for members who needed them. Julie Kovash
asked that they also be given thermostat keys.
Julie reported that the LCC will realize about $500 in donations as a result of
participating in the Coal Creek Crossing Run.
The Arts Center office is in chaos and Lynn Wooton offered to get it straightened out -
AGAIN.
XI -Events Schedule
An Events Schedule will be available next month.
Julie Kovash urged members to get up posters for all events.
The newsletter email list is at between 650 and 675 subscribers. The artist and wife had driven from Larkspur and were
greatly appreciative. It was noted that the concert went up on a night of serious
competition including the televised Monarch vs Cherry Creek football game. There was
considerable discussion as to whether the increase in admission from $10 to $12 was
some of the cause given current declines in expendable income. It was noted that $12 was
very competitive with other such concert admissions. LCC will try and learn if admission
cost is a factor in attendance decline, if such a decline persists. The next coffee house
concert is October 24th.
XIII -Discussion of Other Scheduled Events
Maryan Jaross reported that the first dance event would be October 11th. She asked if the
Board wanted to try book reading events. The consensus was that if interested in doing so
Maryan should try such.
Don Atwood reported that the Youth Advisory Board was interested in co-sponsoring the
Poetry Slam again, and that he would have to meet with them to better describe just what
that would consist of. He pointed out that it should be done so that all the work does not
revert to Mandy Perrera.
Don suggested that he explore with Ballet Nouveau and/or the Colorado Ballet about
putting on a kids program about ballet on a Saturday morning. The Board consensus was
