that he should try.
Lynn Wooton reported on plans for the Arts Show. Patti Schunk will cut all mats, which
is a difficult job. Lynn has arranged that all material including letterheads will clearly
show this is a cooperative LCC/LAA event. The show will be over Thanksgiving, i.e.,
from November 25th to December 7th. Lynn pointed out that ALL LCC Board members
and ALL teachers should participate. Lynn is very excited about the level of cooperation.
XIV -New Arts Center
Don Atwood reported that the SC met on September 8th and is now pretty much waiting
for the Council work session to be scheduled. The SC is initiating visits to other arts
centers and will begin with Lakewood, the Newman center, and Arvada. He noted that
the DBA was still notable non-participatory, but the Chamber of Commerce is interested
and active. As Maryan
wanted to do a press release, Julie K. let he know that amateur photographer Doug
Grinsberg had photographed some of the work at the reception on September 13, we
could ask him for photos.
The Board agreed that $500 was a reasonable amount to capitalize this effort and
suggested that Lynn and Rebecca proceed on that basis and bring a budget to the next
Board meeting to be approved.
XVI -Art in the Park
Maryan Jaross provided Jim with a project summary for the City. She announced that
Greg Lorimore would handle the national announcement of the contest through the "Cafe
System." He will meet with Kathy Martin, Julie Seydel, and Julie Kovash as to the
particulars of that effort on October 1St. The call for enrries will limit sculpture value to
$20K per item. Maryan also announced that it was now evident that entry fees for the
