Claudine is wolfing for flyer from Sarah Fontaine and will post a flyer <br />about it. This program could be integrated with the reading volunteers program. <br />C. Physical and Mental Health-Carol Purfurst. <br />Carol met with Richard and June Cohen and discussed the need far a bulletin <br />board. Katie Beasley will look into getting a whiteboard that can go in the pool <br />room above the radio. Richard is interested in gardening. He and Carol will <br />meet with Bob, the city gardener, possibly in February, fo look info fhe possibility <br />of getfing a raised flowerbed. Qther possibilities are a cutting garden for flowers <br />and a plot for flowers and vegetables. Claudine will talk to Richard, as the need <br />to weed existing beds came up in a staff meeting. The Fitness Frenzy went well. <br />The award party will be at lunch on September 4. Senior exercise classes are <br />doing well. Seniors appreciate how Donna Parker works with them. Katie wants <br />to have demonstration days for the wii equipment and two are listed in the Fall <br />newsletter. Maybe a couple of middle school kids could be recruited during the <br />school vacation to help the seniors with the wii or participate with them. Some <br />people want to promote the billiard playing. Katie will make flyers for fhe <br />lunchroom table. Doris, Imadail and Jean Wincher are interested. Thursday is <br />the women's day. Deny Schiavo is interested in promoting a new game called <br />Whackit Ball. Katie is going to look into making signs for the weight machines as <br />people are having conversa#ions while on the machines, keeping others waiting. <br />Unfinished Business-- <br />A. Labor Day Parade-Barbara Wilson <br />Barbara brought in the tulle skirts with poodles, corsages and blinking tiaras. The <br />Model A club wants 10 people in the vintage Modef A vehicles. Barbara will have <br />a sign-up sheet (10 for cars, 10 to walk). There's a banner with photos of <br />Louisville High School's Class of 'S2, including Ron Leggett. Barbara will invife <br />Helen McDonald, Kathy Taylor and Mary Klaasen fo participate. Ron and Irene <br />Leggett were also suggested. <br />A. New Business-City of Louisville Citizen Survey Results <br />The survey results were positive, maybe too much so. Claudine suggested we <br />need stories. There are people with no place to live. <br />B. Silent Auction <br />Walt moved and Bob P seconded to approve the memo to the Senior Foundation <br />giving them $6,000, proceeds from the Silent Auction plus a donation from a <br />private trust. <br />Member comments - <br />Barbara P asked if she should speak to Paula to suggest someone from Balfour <br />to run for the Board. Claudine said we should get as many recommendations as <br />possible. <br />
