Resource Conservation Advisory Board
Minutes
September 15, 2008
Ideas that LRCAB members introduced included:
• Adding a curbside pickup for compostables, like the City of Boulder's pilot
program. It was noted that the Director of Public Works, Tom Phare, wants
to wait until the proposed single hauler system is in place to add
composting.
• A composting program for City employees.
• A manure pickup truck for Growing Gardens.
• Compost bins and educational program for City residents. We should look
at what types of bins are available. Someone should talk with Jeff
Callahan at the County to find out how a city program might work with the
existing County bin program.
• Multiple recycling containers for City offices.
• Doggie loos for parks.
Jenny offered to contact Paul Wood regarding the initiation of a green points type
program and whether LRCAB's recommended environmental section would be
added to the Comprehensive Plan update.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting
Follow up with holiday light exchange program.
