TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: MALCOLM FLEMING, CITY MANAGER
DATE: DECEMBER 9, 2008
SUBJECT: STATE HIGHWAY 42 AND SOUTH BOULDER ROAD INTERSECTION
PROJECT-UPDATE
ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
SUMMARY: Public Works Staff will brief City Council on a proposed scope change being
recommended by Public Works which will eliminate the immediate need for acquiring right-of-
way from the Harney-Lastoka Open Space. The acquisition of right-of-way from the Harney
Lastoka Open Space has the potential to delay the project. In order to avoid a project delay,
the City approached CDOT with an alternate design for northbound State Highway 42 which
does not require the acquisition of right of way from the Open Space. CDOT has reviewed the
design change and has given its concurrence to proceed to final design. Public Works will
present the details of the alternate design and take questions from City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: N/A
ATTACHMENT(S): NONE
SUBJECT
STATE HIGHWAY 42 AND SOUTH BOULDER
ROAD INTERSECTON PROJECT -UPDATE
AGENDA ITEM
