Draft 12/04/08 <br />collection, transport, and deposit of the single-stream recycling materials at the <br />city's designated recycling facility will be provided by the city, its contractor or <br />city licensed operator. <br />Single-stream recycling container a wheeled cart suitable for mechanical <br />lifting with a lid for containing and setting out recycling materials for collection <br />in sizes of approximately 32-gallons, 64-gallons, and/or 96-gallons. <br />Trash means any form of waste material, junk, garbage, rubbish, refuse, <br />foreign substance, or debris whatsoever. <br />Trash container means for those persons subject to the city's residential <br />trash collection services a wheeled cart suitable for mechanical lifting with a lid <br />for containing and setting out trash for collection in sizes of approximately 32- <br />gallons, 64-gallons, and/or 96-gallons. For all other persons, trash container <br />means a metal or other non-absorbent container equipped with a tightly fitting <br />metal or non-absorbent lid. <br />Sec. 8.64.020. Trash -handling and collection requirements. <br />A. Prior to being deposited for collection, all trash shall be drained of <br />liquid and be wrapped tightly and sealed in paper or plastic to prevent spillage. <br />B. Trash containers for those subject to the city's residential trash <br />collection services shall be provided by the city or its contractor as described in <br />section 8.64.050. <br />C. Trash containers shall be kept off the street, curb, sidewalk and all <br />other public ways, except on the scheduled day of collection, and then only for a <br />maximum of twelve (12) hours before and twelve (12) hours after the scheduled <br />time of collection. <br />D. No person shall place, leave, deposit or dispose of any trash on any <br />street, alley or other public place, or on any private property, unless the trash is <br />wholly contained within a proper trash container for collection. Any <br />accumulation of trash in violation of this chapter is declared a nuisance and is <br />prohibited. <br />E. Household hazardous waste shall be disposed of as set forth in the <br />Boulder County Household Hazardous Waste disposal guidelines. <br />F. It shall be unlawful for any person to bury trash anywhere within <br />the city. <br />15 <br />
