Meeting Minutes—DRAFT THURSDAY, January 11, 2018 Library Meeting Room, 1st Floor 951 Spruce Street 6:30 PM 1) Call to Order A quorum was present and Board president Jeannie Schuman called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. 2) Roll Call A member of the public was present, and the Board and Library staff introduced themselves by name. Board Members Present: City Staff Members Present: • Richard Chamberlin • Beth Barrett • Renee Gurganus • Karen Freiter • Sandie Hammerly, Town of Superior Trustee • Helana Lechner (arrived 6:36 PM) Others Absent: • Jeannie Schuman • Ashley Stolzmann, Louisville City Council • Conor Seyle Liaison Board Members Absent: • Sherri Lancton 3) Approval of Agenda The agenda was approved as written. 4) Approval of Minutes Minutes from the 9 November 2017 meeting were approved as written 5) Election of Officers Secretary Chamberlin volunteered to remain in the office of Secretary. The nomination was seconded and unanimously approved by the Board. Chamberlin then placed Member Seyle into nomination for Board President. Seyle politely declined citing work and family commitments that would prevent him from undertaking this important responsibility. Seyle then nominated president Schuman to serve another term. The nomination was seconded, and the Board voted 5 to 1 in favor of retaining Schuman as Board president. Board vice president Lancton was nominated in absentia to retain the office of Vice President. The nomination was seconded and the Board unanimously elected Lancton to be Board VP.
