She stated the summer
Street Faire grossed approximately $25,000, which would help pay for the Steinbaugh
Pavilion. She thanked the City, the volunteers and for the community for their support.

COUNCIL COMMENTS

Davidson thanked the Downtown Business Association and all the volunteers for a
successful summer Street Faire. He requested a copy of the video for the City's
government access television channel. Brown thanked Nancy Love, the Downtown
Business Association and all the volunteers for their dedicated work on the Steinbaugh
Pavilion. He suggested the Steinbaugh Pavilion be nominated for a community project
award through the Denver Regional Council of Government. He asked Staff to explore
other opportunities and venues for the Steinbaugh Pavilion. Davidson noted the Colorado
Municipal League also has an award program for community projects.

NEW LIBRARY LOCATION

Davidson asked Council member Sisk for a presentation of the new library location.

Sisk stated the Council has discussed the location for the new library and mandated that it
be in the downtown area. He suggested Council express a preference for the location and
voiced his preference for a location that would be between Pine and Walnut Streets. He
noted there are several locations available to the City and stated it is important to indicate
to the voters where a new library would be built. He requested a resolution stipulating the
City's intent to build the new library and its location.

Council Discussion: Keany commented on negative responses for the old post office site
due to the heavy traffic along Pine Street. Brown agreed the Pine Street location is
problematic. Keany suggested stipulating the core downtown area for the library.
Davidson stated Council could not pinpoint or guarantee an exact location for the library
and suggested the resolution indicate downtown as the location for the library. He
stressed the importance of keeping a post office downtown.

MOTION: Brown moved that should the bond issue pass in November, Council adopt a
resolution stipulating a preference for a new library to be built in core downtown
Louisville, seconded by Davidson.

Davidson offered a friendly amendment the library be built in a commercially zoned area.

Sisk offered a friendly amendment to strike the word prefer and state the library would be
located in a downtown commercial area. Brown and Davidson accepted the amendments.

VOTE: All in favor.
