Louisville City Council Meeting
September 2, 2003

next week. Boyd announced the September 9, 2003 study session has been cancelled.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Davidson reported on correspondence from the Mayor of Lafayette, who will host a
meeting to discuss regional solutions for funding libraries. Attendance by an elected
official is requested. Don Brown will represent the City at that meeting. Davidson
reported he and Mayor Pro-Tem Sisk would be out of town for two weeks and he
appointed Council member John Keany as acting Mayor for that time period.

Keany reported September 4, 2003 would be the first meeting of the Youth Advisory
Board. He announced there would not be an October meeting of the Youth Advisory
Board, as they will participate in a two-day retreat, where statewide Youth Advisory
Boards will meet.

There was Council discussion relative to the transition in the Louisville Housing
Authority. Brown suggested a joint work session with the Housing Authority. Marsella
stated with the major changes occurring in the Housing Authority, a joint meeting at a
work session may be premature. Davidson asked if the Boulder County Housing
Authority could be expected to deliver the services and suggested Staff monitor and
report on the Authority's progress. Sisk suggested that Council schedule a meeting
between the Chairman of the Housing Authority and Mayor Davidson.

Council discussion relative to the issues raised by Rhonda Grassi: Brown suggested in
the spirit of cooperation, Staff cite statutory requirements when denying a citizen request.
Davidson concurred, and noted in cases where the ordinance did not anticipate the
request, Staff bring those issue to the City Council. Sisk stated there are also instances
when a yes or no answer cannot be given. Keany stated that it might also be a timing
issue.

ADJOURNMENT

MOTION;..Si~sk mOved for adjournment (9:29 p.m.), seconded by Keany. All in favor.
LOUt ~,

~T'~,ST: ~ ~

Nancy V~a, City Clerk

Tom Davidson, Mayor

9
