Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
4/23/2018
Pogo 3 of 7
date are yet to be determined.
Quarterly Dashboard
• Reviewed and discussed the quarterly Rec Center financial performance
and statistical information presented by the Recreation Superintendent to
council regarding the Rec Center. Members discussed their desire to get
non-financial data as well as just financial performance. For example, data
on number of memberships (not just member visits) and how this may tie
into strategic objectives. Further, it was felt that the KPIs were too detailed
(e.g. program and sub -program levels) to provide high-level snapshot of
Rec Center performance.
Memory Square Grand Opening
• Memory Square will open as soon as turned over by the contractor.
• Ribbon cutting ceremony will be 6/8/2018. This is the Friday after the
Taste of Louisville events. It will be a Hawaiian Theme and all regular
programming (e.g. Dolphins, classes, lap swim) will occur as scheduled.
Survey Questions
• Reviewed the survey to be released to the public. Committee members
had no further comments and approved it for release.
Work Plan
• Added Marketing and Branding to the work plan.
Sales Tax Subcommittee
• Created a subcommittee of Michele Van Pelt, Woody Hipsher and Kathy
Martin to study ways to address certain fiscal policies such as allocation of
new sales tax revenue, level of general fund subsidies, and program fees.
Discuss Recreation Center Marketing/Branding
