14. PERMIT NOT REQUIRED. A Building Permit will NOT be required for the <br />renovation, remodel and/or repair of an existing residence only where: <br />a) The work is to be done by the owner or occupant, and <br />b) The size of the structure will not be increased, and <br />c) The structural members (design) i.e., foundations, underpinning, bearing, or <br />framing, will not be altered or changed, and <br />d) The scope of the work will exclude any electrical, plumbing or heating, and <br />e) The TOTAL COST of labor and materials will not exceed $500.00. <br />Sec. 15.04.070. Section 105.5 amended - Permit expiration. <br />The first paragraph of Section 105.5 of 2012 International Building Code shall <br />read as follows: <br />105.5 Expiration. Except for permits for al erations involving only one discipline, every <br />permit issued by the building official under the provisions of this code shall expire by <br />limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is <br />not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work <br />authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is <br />commenced for a period of 180 days. Every permit for alterations involving only one <br />discipline which is issued by the building official under the provisions of this code shall <br />expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such <br />permit is not commenced within 90 days from the date of such permit, or if the building <br />or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the <br />work is commenced for a period of 90 days. Before such work can be recommenced, a <br />new permit shall be first obtained to do so, and the fee therefore shall be one half the <br />amount required for a new permit for such work, provided no changes have been made <br />or will be made in the original plans and specifications for such work, and provided <br />further that such suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year. In order to <br />renew action on a permit after expiration, the permittee shall pay a new full permit fee. <br />111 <br />Sec. 15.04.080. Section 1609.3.2, Wind Toads. <br />The following Section 1609.3.2 is added to the 2012 International Building Code: <br />Section 1609.3. Wind Speeds. The minimum basic wind speed for determining wind <br />pressure shall be, for the Special Wind Region which encompasses the City of <br />Louisville, V3s=115mph and Vfm=100 as interpolated from Table 1609.3.1. <br />Sec. 15.04.090. Section 1608.2 amended - Ground snow Toads. <br />Section 1608.2 of the 2012 International Building Code is amended by the <br />addition of the following sentence inserted at the end of the section: <br />4 <br />
