City; Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 2016 <br />Page 6 of 10 <br />plant species, restoring flowers and fauna, improving the shoreline of Harper Lake as a <br />wildlife sanctuary is a higher priority than wayfinding. She would like to target one <br />newsletter to Open Space issues. She thinks trail maintenance should include the costs <br />of closing social trails. <br />Mayor Muckle agrees prairie restoration should be a priority and would like to see all <br />noxious weeds listed rather than just List A. <br />Councilmember Loo would like more information on mitigating dust issues at the <br />Davidson Mesa parking lot and what might be done that is cost effective. <br />Mayor Muckle would like some language generally about improving weed management <br />and eradicating noxious weeks. <br />Recreation <br />Councilmember Maloney would like to see some potential capital projects listed for the <br />golf course should revenues support it. <br />Cultural Services <br />Councilmember Loo stated appropriate storage for artifacts donated to the Museum <br />should be a priority as people have donated items and they have an expectation those <br />items will be cared for appropriately. <br />Councilmember Stolzmann noted she doesn't see enough funding in thegeneral fund to <br />pay for an expanded museum and: this project should go through a process similar to <br />what the Rec Center is doing to, get this on the ballot to see if the public will fund an <br />expanded museum. She stated there is no other way to pay for it. Deputy City Manager <br />Balser stated some of the work is already being done and a process is moving forward <br />along those lines. <br />Councilmember Loo would like more detail on the proposed STEM programgiven the <br />library's limited resources. She added she would like to see "investigate not <br />"implement" Cultural Arts Master Plan. <br />COMMUNITY DESIGN <br />Councilmember Maloney asked for more information on the "research and evaluate <br />affordable housing policy options." City Manager Fleming stated it to see what is <br />working in other communities and considering doing that work here. Councilmember <br />Lipton asked why this was included. He feels this isn't a priority because we turned our <br />Housing Authority over to Boulder County to handle this and as a small community he <br />does not think the City can really do anything to affect this issue. <br />26` <br />
