Call to Order <br />Laura called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Board Members Present: Laura Scott Denton, Jim Gibb, Fiona Garvin, David <br />Blankinship, Peter Gowen, Missy Davis, Helen Moshak <br />Board Members Absent: Mike Schantz <br />City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Joe Stevens <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br />Peter moved to approve the agenda as written. Laura seconded. The motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes <br />Laura proposed amending the May minutes in Item XIII Section A. After the sentence: <br />"Leasing split lots is tough due to irrigation issues, but smaller lots demand less big <br />equipment & would be more attractive to younger people", Laura proposed adding the <br />following sentence: "Laura observed that when OSAB evaluates properties for possible <br />agricultural acquisition, we have been prioritizing large parcels and wondered whether <br />the County wants us to also consider smaller ones for this reason" <br />Laura moved to approve the minutes with the aforementioned change. David seconded. <br />The motion passed with 4 votes. Peter abstained as he was absent at the last meeting. <br />V. Staff Updates— Ember <br />A. Ember announced that Joe is resigning as Parks & Open Space Director as of <br />July 13. He will be continuing to oversee the Rec Center renovation project. <br />B. Ember distributed educational program flyers and reported that 1,909 citizens <br />have participated so far (1,154 last year total). Ranger -staffed booth at Farmer's <br />Market on the last Saturday of the month has been popular; let Ember know if <br />any OSAB members would like to volunteer as well. Laura asked why numbers <br />are increasing - Ember replied that increase probably due to more marketing in <br />Louisville as well as linking programs to national databases & marketing efforts. <br />C.
