Mayor Muckle <br />moved to approve Ordinance No. 1763, Series 2018 on first reading, send it out for <br />publication, and set the public hearing and second reading for September 4, 2018; <br />Councilmember Loo seconded. <br />Voice vote: All in favor. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1764, SERIES 2018 — AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY <br />REFERENCE THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, 2018 INTERNATIONAL <br />RESIDENTIAL CODE, 2018 INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE, 2018 <br />INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE, 2018 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, 2018 <br />INTERNATIONAL EXISTING BUILDING CODE, 2018 INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING <br />CODE, 2018 INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE, 2018 <br />INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, AND 1997 UNIFORM CODE <br />FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS — 1st READING, SET PUBLIC <br />HEARING 9/4/18 <br />City Attorney Light introduced the ordinance by title on first reading. Mayor Muckle <br />moved to approve Ordinance No. 1764, Series 2018 on first reading, send it out for <br />publication, and set the public hearing and second reading for September 4, 2018; <br />Councilmember Leh seconded. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Lipton stated previously when the City made changes like this many <br />people were surprised with the consequences of these changes, particularly how it may <br />trigger other improvement requirements or costs to meet these codes.
