Recreation Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />August 27, 2018 <br />Pap 2of3 <br />City Council Update — Dennis Maloney <br />• Director Parks and Recreation Search <br />o The schedule for the search is being developed. A target January <br />2019 hire date is being considered. <br />o The Recreation Advisory Board will be able to comment on the <br />search. <br />o A Recreation Advisory Board may be able to interview candidates. <br />• August 28, 2018 — City Manager will present a six -year hiring plan, which <br />will include recreation hires. <br />• September 17, 2018 — Council gets first budget projections <br />• October 2, 2018 — first public hearing of budget <br />• October 2, 2018 — Fifth amendment to the Rec Center construction <br />contract is coming, largely pertaining to the repair and replacement of the <br />existing hail -damaged roof <br />• October 9, 2018 — Council Study Session includes Rec Center financial <br />policy and fees discussion <br />• October 16, 2018 — Recommended budget presented to Council <br />Golf Course Staff Update - Tracy Winfree <br />• Tracy presented for David Dean and David Baril <br />• Course Superintendent Report <br />o A sump pump has been approved for the Dillon Road underpass. <br />o Two part time employees are being hired. <br />o The greens will be aerated after Labor Day. <br />• Director of Golf Report <br />o Six of seven months in 2018 course exceeded 2017 revenue <br />o Year to date, lessons revenue have already exceeded total 2017 <br />lessons revenue <br />o Year to date, pro shop revenue has already exceeded total 2017 <br />pro shop revenue <br />o Junior participation is ahead for the third straight year <br />o Course routing change is complete <br />o 1,296 five -hole rounds 2018 YTD, compared 656 total 2017 <br />Advertising/Marketing Update — Ginger Cross <br />• Recapped the initial work of staff, work of the marketing subcommittee, <br />and provided board feedback. <br />2019 Board Application Process Questions — Kathy Martin <br />
