The purpose and subject matter of the <br /> Umform Plumbing Code (also referred to as the UPC) mclude comprehensive <br /> provisions regulating plumbing installations in or m connection with new and <br /> existing structures and providmg uniform plumbing standards for the purpose of <br /> protecting the public health, safety and general welfare. Except as otherwise <br /> provided herem, the Uniform Plumbing Code is adopted in full, including the <br /> outline of contents, index, all chapters thereof and all of the appendices thereto as <br /> stated in Section 15 16.030 In all sections of this chapter, title, or Louisville <br /> Municipal Code where a reference is made to the Uniform Plumbing Code or UPC, <br /> said reference shall be to the 1997 Edition of said Code. <br /> Section 4. Section 15 16 020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby repealed and <br /> reenacted,with amendments,to read as follows. <br /> Sec. 15.16.020. Plumbing Permit Fees. <br /> Table No 1-1 Plumbing Permit Fees of the Uniform Plumbing Code is <br /> adopted. <br /> Section 5. Section 15 16.030 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby repealed and <br /> reenacted,with amendments,to read as follows. <br /> Sec. 15.16.030. Appendices Adopted. <br /> There is hereby adopted Appendices A through E and G through L of the <br /> Uniform Plumbmg Code. Any appendices not listed are not adopted. <br /> Section 6. Section 15 16.040 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby repealed and <br /> reenacted,with amendments,to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 15.16.040. Amendments to Uniform Plumbing Code Adopted. <br /> A. The following amendments are hereby made to the <br /> Uniform Plumbing Code: <br /> 1 Section 603 3 2 is amended to read as follows. <br /> 603.3.2. The premise owner or responsible person shall have the <br /> backflow prevention assembly tested by a certified backflow <br /> assembly tester at the time of installation,repair, or relocation. <br /> 2. Section 603 4 41 is amended to read as follows. <br /> 603 4 4 1 Heat Exchangers, and other assemblies or methods <br /> of construction using potable water shall be of listed construction <br /> and materials. The sections in contact with potable water shall be <br /> of materials and weights suitable for potable water as set forth in <br /> this chapter <br /> 3 <br />
