Add <br /> Section 1210 6 Corrigated Stainless Steel Tubing used for lowpressure gas line shall <br /> be installed in accordance with their listing and installation standards as approved by <br /> the Chief Building Official <br /> > A recent Colorado Court of Appeals decision (Case No 99CA0996) on June 22, 2000, <br /> ruling against the Colorado Plumbing Board and requiring them to accept Studor Air <br /> Admittance Valves as an alternate method of construction for plumbing vents should <br /> allow adding a new section to Chapter 9, Venting Add a new section 911 stating, 'Vent <br /> systems utilizing air admittance valves shall comply with this section Individual- and <br /> branch-type air admittance valves shall conform to American Society of Sanitary <br /> Engineering (ASSE) standard 1051 The valves shall be installed in accordance with <br /> the requirements of this section and the manufacturer's installation instructions <br /> Individual, branch and circuit vents shall be permitted to terminate with a connection to <br /> an air admittance valve The air admittance valve,shall only vent fixtures that are on the <br /> same floor level and connect to a horizontal branch drain " Adding a provision to the <br /> code that will allow for the installation of listed air admittance valves will result in a <br /> reduction in material and labor costs on the installation of DWV systems (This <br /> provision is under review by the City Attorney to see if the court decision can be applied <br /> to an amendment to the code ) <br /> The Board's attorney will be reviewing the above recommendations from staff and may <br /> present other options to the Board at the September 14, 2000 meeting As discussed on <br /> August 24th, you will be able to formalize your recommendations to the City Council in a <br /> motion for the second reading and public hearing of the ordinance, scheduled for the <br /> October 3, 2000 meeting of the City Council <br /> ( <br />
