City of <br />Om Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Youth Advisory Board <br />MINUTES <br />September 6, 2018 <br />Louisville Public Library <br />951 Spruce Street <br />6:00-8 PM <br />I. Call to Order: Mandy Perera called the meeting to order at about 6:05 pm. <br />II. Roll call <br />• Board members present: Bruce Armstrong, Teddy Hart, Kaylix <br />McClure, Riley Miller, Addison Nakari, Brooke Newell, Kaelan <br />Norgard, Logan Pius, Lincoln Roch, Sophie Russ <br />• Board members absent: Kendall Weideman <br />• Staff Liaisons present: Jay Keany, Mandy Perera, Jessica <br />Schwartz <br />III. Approval of Agenda: The agenda was approved by all members. <br />IV. Meet and Greet: All members introduced themselves, stating their names, <br />grades, schools, how long they've been serving the board, and sharing their <br />favorite summer memories. Returning members talked about why they've <br />enjoyed being members. <br />V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: None <br />VI. What is the YAB: What can you expect in the upcoming year? - Mandy <br />talked about the history and purpose of the YAB, which was formed in 2002 by to <br />give youth a voice in Louisville. YAB members represent the ideas and concerns <br />of their peers. The board is youth directed, members live in Louisville, and they <br />attend monthly meetings. They also volunteer in the community monthly, and <br />learn about local government, and work on a larger project. <br />VII. Expectations of Board members and Professional Conduct: Mandy and <br />Jessica talked about the attendance policy, meeting rules, and behavioral <br />expectations both at meetings and when representing the YAB in other <br />capacities. Jay discussed a new policy about volunteering expectations. Starting <br />this term, all members will be required to attend volunteer events. If a member <br />cannot make it to an event, they must make up the hours by volunteering in <br />another capacity that month. <br />VIII.
