Corrigan, Pasqual Satriano granted Jordinelli a deed of trust secured by the property at 1021
Main.
Joseph DiSalvo Ownership, 1920 —1959
In 1920, Joseph DiSalvo purchased 1021 Main from the Louisville Bank.
Joseph DiSalvo (also spelled as DeSalvo, Di Salvo, De Solvo, Salvo, and in other ways) was born in Italy in
1875. He and his wife, Carmela, who was born in about 1876, had William (Vito), born in Italy in about
1896; Josephine, born in Colorado in about 1909; Mary, born in Colorado in about 1911; and Jennie,
born in Colorado in about 1912. At the time of the 1910 and 1920 federal censuses, they were living
elsewhere in Louisville. Joe DiSalvo was a coal miner.
Carmela DiSalvo died in 1926. Joe DiSalvo continued to own and live at 1021 Main. By the time of the
1930 census, he was living at 1021 Main with a new wife, Mary. She was born in Italy in 1880 and came
to the US in 1928, possibly as part of an arranged marriage with Joe DiSalvo. The 1940 census similarly
shows Joe and Mary DiSalvo to be living at 1021 Main, this time with Joe's grandson, Joseph DiSalvo,
who was born in Colorado in about 1924.
The following photo from the circa 1920s is a view looking south and shows 1021 Main on the right,
behind 1029 Main.
The following images from the 1948 County Assessor card show the photo of the house and the ground
layout sketch:
3
