A picture of this house from around this time can be seen on the following postcard of Louisville that
was mailed in 1909, so it would presumably date from the period of a few years before 1909:
The following shows a close up of the postcard. This reveals a colorized photo of the west side of the
1000 block of Jefferson, with 1021 Jefferson visible as the third house in from the left:
Rcsi t rn,e 5ectinrr
iouisviJ%C . Colo.
Andy Teague owned this house from at least 1909 to 1910, according to online County property records,
and may have lived in it starting even earlier than 1909, given that the purchase contract was recorded
with the County in 1906. The warranty deed was recorded in 1909, but may have been effective earlier,
as people sometimes did not immediately record property documents as they do now to protect their
rights.
The 1910 census shows Andy Teague living in Louisville with his wife, Carrie, and their children. Their
children were Mildred and apparent twins Edith and Andy. It could not be determined whether the
family was living in this particular house at the time of the census. In 1910, Andy Teague was 35, his
wife, Carrie, was 34, and their children were 7, 4, and 4. Museum records show that Teague was a
Louisville town councilman from 1909 to 1911.
