Authority to allow amending of the application to reflect the proper
address as being 910 W. Cherry Street, as opposed to the N.E.
corner of McCaslin and Cherry.

Salas:

A copy of your letter stating that the address was assigned as 910 W.
Cherry was attached to the application submitted to the Authority.
The applicant can make the actual change on the application after
the heating.

Jaunarajs:

I would like to proceed with the testimony from Mr. Patten. Mr.
Patten would you identify yourself for the record and what is your
capacity with Albertson's?

Patten:

I an~ Patrick Patten and I am a District Sales Manager for Albertson's.

Jaunarajs:

Is this one of the stores in your particular area, this new application?

Patten:

Yes, it is.

Jaunarajs:

Do you have overall responsibility lbr the stores within the area?

Patten:

Yes, I do.

Jaunarajs:

Mr. Patten, one of the things that has come across to a lot of
licensing authorities recently is the methodology that a particular
store or particular establishment employs in making sure that
alcoholic beverages are not sold to minors. Would you briefly tell
the Authority what steps Albertson's does take and will take in this
store?

Patten:

We have a training that we put all of our cashiers through and we have a
certification that our cashiers go through on training in Lakewood
County for example, they have a course that we can send our
cashiers through and I understand Jefferson has the same type of
course that we would be willing to send the cashiers through. All
cashiers must be certified before they can check anybody out. We
have protection to the operations, such as the cheCkers all know that
they can be terminated and pay all applicable fines if they sell
alcohol to a minor. We have signs that are hung in the cold and
warm beer areas stating the Colorado laws and the hours that we will
sell alcoholic beverages. In our new IBM cash register systems we
have the capabilities of freezing out thc UPC's codes so alcoholic
beverages won't scan alter midnight and before 6:00 a.m. With the
new state profile drivers licenses for anyone under the age of twenty-
one is very helpful for us.

Jaunarajs asked Charles Cutup the petition circulator to address the Authority.
