Simmons stated that this corrected resolution will set the mill levy at 5.246 mills. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council comments or motion. <br /> <br />Howard moved that Council adopt Resolution No. 53, Series 1997, setting the mill levy for the 1998 <br />Budget as amended, seconded by Mayer. Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 7 - 0 vote. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1270, SERIES 1997 - ADOPTING THE 1997 EDITIONS OF THE <br />UNIFORM BUILDING, FIRE AND MECHANICAL CODES - 2ND READING - PUBLIC <br />HEARING (11/8/97) <br /> <br />Light read by title only Ordinance No. 1270, Series 1997, "An ordinance adopting by reference the <br />1997 edition of the Uniform Building Code (Volumes 1, 2, and 3), the 1997 edition of the Uniform <br />Mechanical Code, the 1997 edition of the Uniform Fire Code (Volumes 1 and 2), the 1997 edition <br />of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Building, the 1997 edition of the Uniform <br />Code for t~e Building Conservation, the 1997 edition of the Solar Energy Code and the 1994 edition <br />of the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Code; enacting certain amendments to the <br />foregoing uniform codes; establishing fees under the Uniform Building Code; amending, repealing <br />and reenacting certain sections of the Title 15 of the Louisville Municipal Code in connection with <br />the adoption of the foregoing uniform codes; and establishing penalties for violations of such codes." <br /> <br />Tom Talboom, Chief Building Inspector, stated that this ordinance included not only the adopting <br />of the new 1997 editions of the Uniform Codes, but also included several amendments to those codes. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing calling for anyone wishing to speak on Ordinance No. 1270. <br /> <br />Gerald Allmer, 1355 So. Boulder Road, #F246, Louisville, Colorado, a plumber who was concerned <br />about water safety. He pointed out the number of non-professionals in the community giving out <br />advice on how to build homes, how to do plumbing, how to do electrical. He stated that they are not <br />licensed, permitted, insured, or bonded. He hoped that in the adoption of these codes they give the <br />inspectors the opportunity to stop the perpetrators of the unhealthy, illegal items being sold over the <br />counters. He felt the code could be improved. <br /> <br />Davidson called for anyone else wishing to speak on this ordinance. <br />NONE <br /> <br />Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments, questions, or motions. <br /> <br />Sisk moved that Council adopt Ordinance No. 1270, Series 1997, on second and final reading, <br />seconded by Mayer.
