Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 17, 2008 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />Muth asked each member to bring a list of program priorities to the December meeting <br />for discussion as well as a list of historic resource priorities. <br />Koertje thanked Morgan for her work on the ballot campaign. <br />Subcommittee Reports <br />Community Outreach -Muckle and Whiteman are still gathering information. Muckle <br />suggested more information be made available on the HPC page of the City's website <br />Landmark Plaque Design -Whiteman presented updated drawings from CCCD. He <br />noted that at the size presented, each plaque could cost over $1000. He asked if the <br />City should cover the entire cost of the plaques or if the building owner should be asked <br />to contribute and if the number of words should be limited to keep costs down. <br />Members asked if some text elements could be changed. Muth will bring a new version <br />for review in December. <br />Incentives - Koertje reported that he and McMenamin are still gathering information. <br />Mine Marker Program - Koertje reported that he has been in discussions with CCCD to <br />help with the design and he will try to schedule a meeting forxxthe subcommittee in <br />January. <br />Green Build Pamphlet - No update. <br />Why Preserve Pamphlet - No update. <br />Update on Demolition Requests <br />720 West Street- McMenamin reported that he and Lewis reviewed the site and <br />released the permit as they both felt there was not enough significance to warrant a stay. <br />1800 Plaza Drive -Muth reported that the initial review had been completed and a <br />public hearing has been set for the December 15 HPC meeting. <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals -None <br />Updates <br />836 & 844 Main Street- stay expired 4/22/08 - No update <br />1024 LaFarge Avenue -stay expired 10/1/08 - No update <br />824 South Place -stay expires 12/21/08 - No update <br />Ms. Downer's Cabins -Jean Morgan noted that the cabins are still deteriorating and <br />have had no maintenance by the owner. <br />Items from Staff <br />Appointments and Reappointments to Commission -Muth reported that appointments <br />will be made at the City Council's December 2 meeting. <br />
