La <br />Cityof <br />Louisville <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />Memorandum <br />To: Open Space Advisory Board <br />From: Ember Brignull, Open Space Manager <br />Date: November 14, 2018 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />General: <br />• Boulder County Commissioners awarded the Boulder Areas Trails Mobile <br />Application Development Project to the Timmons Group of Richmond, Virginia. <br />• Encroachment Campaign continues. At this point all wards have been reviewed <br />for compliance and we are at roughly 95% compliance. <br />• Legal staff has made revisions to the Open Space and Parks Municipal Code as <br />requested by the Legal Committee. Staff will be reviewing the revisions and <br />working with legal staff to present the revised content to the Legal Committee. <br />After Legal Committee has approved the revisions the content will be going to <br />City Council. A date for Legal Committee review has not been set yet. <br />• OSAB Boulder County Parks and Open Space Trails and Acquisition Partnership <br />Recommendations will be reviewed by City Council in early December. <br />• Vegetation surveys have been conducted on the western half of Davidson Mesa <br />to document current vegetation communities before the proposed prescribed <br />fire in 2019 <br />• Prairie dog management will be conducted on Daughenbaugh, CTC, Davidson <br />Mesa, and Aquarius during the month of November. <br />• Staff is working to remove Russian olive trees and sprouts on Open Space <br />properties. <br />• A contractor has been hired to fabricate and install interpretive panels to the <br />Hecla Lake bird blind. <br />• "No Dogs Allowed" signs are being placed on Harper Lake at HOA property <br />boundaries and replaced where needed. "Mind your Fishing Line" sign are being <br />replaced with "Keep off the ice" signs. <br />• Staff is mowing Russian thistle patches on Davidson Mesa to prevent tumbling <br />weeds. <br />• Staff has submitted a restoration request to Comcast for work that impacted <br />Open Space properties. <br />
