CRITERIA FOR DEMOLITION REVIEW: <br />The Historic Preservation Commission should review the demolition permit application <br />based upon any of the following criteria in Section 15.36.200(H) of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code (LMC): <br />CRITERIA <br />FINDINGS <br />1. <br />The eligibility of the <br />building for designation <br />as an individual <br />landmark consistent <br />with the purposes and <br />standards in this <br />chapter; <br />Significance <br />Social Significance - Exemplifies cultural, political, <br />economic or social heritage of the community. <br />As a part of the Frenchtown neighborhood, the <br />building reflects the evolution from a French enclave <br />to an area with a variety of ethnic groups. <br />Architectural Significance - Represents a built <br />environment of a group of people in an era of history <br />that is culturally significant to Louisville. <br />The structure at 213 Roosevelt Avenue is a <br />vernacular structure with a modest form typical <br />of early 20th century Louisville. The structure <br />is a part of the pattern of development in <br />Frenchtown in Louisville. <br />Integrity <br />The house has integrity of location and design. <br />Integrity of setting, materials, workmanship, feeling, <br />and association are compromised by replacement <br />siding and roof, replacement door and windows, <br />chain link fence, and surrounding development. <br />Staff finds the property meets the criteria for <br />significance and but only shows partial integrity. <br />2. <br />The relationship of the <br />building as a potential <br />contributing structure to <br />a potential historical <br />district per the criteria <br />set forth in this chapter; <br />The house is not located in any potential historic <br />districts. <br />Staff finds the property does not meet this <br />criteria. <br />3. <br />The reasonable <br />condition of the <br />building*; and <br />The applicant did not provide any information <br />regarding the condition of the property. From the <br />exterior, the structure appears to be in fair condition. <br />Staff finds the property meets the criteria for <br />reasonable building condition making it eligible <br />for designation as an individual landmark. <br />
