112 City0f <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO .SINCE 1878 <br />AMENDED MINUTES <br />Open Space Advisory Board Meeting Minutes <br />Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 <br />Louisville Public Library: First Floor Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 pm <br />I. Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm. <br />II. Roll Call - <br />Board Members Present: Helen Moshak, Laura Scott Denton, Missy Davis, Mike <br />Schantz, Graeme Patterson, Fiona Garvin <br />Board Members Absent: Linda Smith, Jim Gibb <br />City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton, Ashley Stolzmann, Bob Muckle. <br />Ashley Stolzmann made comments and then left the meeting. <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Alan Gibb <br />III. Approval of Agenda - <br />Missy moved to approve the agenda as written. Fiona seconded. The motion <br />was passed unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes - <br />Mike moved to approve the minutes as written. Missy seconded. The motion <br />was passed unanimously. <br />V. Staff Updates - <br />A. Trail design bids are out for 2017 wayfinding projects (eg. the trail intersection <br />re -alignment at Coyote Run). <br />B. The aeration project at Hecla Lake is ongoing. <br />C. The PO process is finished and there is a planting and irrigation contract for <br />the landscaping at the NE area at Hecla. <br />D. A bird survey contract is starting. Work will be done at several locations. <br />E. Mowing will be done at Harper Lake next Thursday, June 22, from 1-3. <br />Citizens have expressed concern about the impact of mowing on geese and goslings. <br />Staff postponed the mowing to let the goslings get bigger and will help flush goslings out <br />of the way of the mowers. Ember has advertised at Harper seeking volunteers to help <br />with this job. <br />F. The Boulder County Youth Corp has started their Louisville work for the <br />summer. They are doing weed pulling at Bullhead Gulch this week. There are also <br />some dead trees on the property that citizens have concerns about. City staff is <br />addressing the dead plant material by removing it and discussing replacement goals, not <br />everything will be replaced. After this work, the Youth Corp will do some trail work. <br />G. The Colorado Native Plant Society came and did a presentation about bees <br />and other pollinators. Ember thought it went really well. <br />H. There will be a bird walk at North Open Space on June 15th at 7am. <br />I. This Saturday (June 17th) will be a Walk with the Mayor event.
