Youth Advisory Board
Agenda
DATE
Page2of3
• December - Pancakes with Santa // Dec. 6 at the Rec Center
i. Since this falls on our December meeting date, we took a
vote to decide whether or not we wanted to meet on the 6th
before the event, or on the following Thursday. We chose to
meet on December 13th instead.
• January — Ribbon Cutting event at the Rec Center on 1/26.
i. Since Addie was not at the meeting with an update on There
with Care, we selected this event as our volunteer project for
January instead.
VIII. Transportation Project
• YAB members came up with 3 different marketing strategies and
broke up into small groups to develop them:
i. Advertising on social media and with our Monarch High
School connections (Brooke and Bruce)
1. Create an ad on Instagram if we have the time and
money.
2. Reach out to a school club such as DECA or Student
Council (check with Addie) to partner in creating an
announcement for the Schoology web portal.
3. Check with Lincoln about creating an ad for The
Howler.
ii. Sending a mailer with information on Call-n-Ride and the
MyRide card to parents (especially parents of middle school
students) (Riley and Sophie)
1. Create a document/flyer with bullet points with all the
necessary info.
a. Send as an email? Letter?
b. Have it added to weekly announcements
c. Maybe have it included in the principal's phone
calls to parents
iii. Hosting an event and offering giveaways and incentives
(Kaelan, Logan, and Teddy)
1. Set up a booth with information, and help people set
up MyRide cards. If possible, give away cards with a
small dollar amount (at least enough for one free ride)
in a raffle.
a. When/where should we set up the booth?
i. After school? At lunch?
