Board of Adjustment
Meeting Minutes
December 21, 2016
rezoning to RL is not allowed by the Code and other zones do not fit. Staff is
contemplating amending the lot coverage standard and doing a range similar to the
situation downtown.
Stuart suggests using two percentages, one as the high and one as the low.
Ritchie states that staff wanted to hear from individual neighborhoods.
Ewy asks if the changes would apply to lot coverage
Ritchie confirms that the changes affected lot coverage only, not setbacks or other
development standards.
Leedy asks how many meetings the Board would have if they took away the lot
coverage cases.
Ritchie replies that there would be fewer.
Stuart adds that 2018 has been an abnormally light year so far.
Ritchie states that staff has a higher bar for variances, but she does not feel staff had
told anyone not to apply who really wanted to.
Ewy asks if residents are complying with restrictions more.
Ritchie replies that a greater rate of compliance could be a possible explanation.
Campbell adds that each PUD in the City is different, because developers want to build
as much as possible.
Adjourn:
Stuart made a motion to adjourn. Voice vote all approve. Meeting adjourned at 7:30
p.m.
