Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday June 6th, 2019 <br />Louisville City Services <br />739 S. 104th St. <br />7:00 PM <br />1. Roll Call: PPLAB members present: Shelly Alm, Dave Clabots, Diana <br />Gutowski, Laurie Hartford, and Ellen Toon. Missing: Mark Newland & <br />Ezra Paddock. Staff Liaison: Dean Johnson. Director of Parks & Rec. <br />Nathan Mosely. City Council Liaison: Susan Loo. <br />2. Approval of Agenda: Unanimously approved. <br />3. Approval of Minutes: Approval with update of roll call; Diana <br />Gutowski was present at the May PPLAB meeting. <br />4. Staff Updates <br />a. Next month's meeting will be on July 11, 2019 . <br />b. Parks key indicator updates coming soon. These updates will also <br />include a rating for medians. <br />5. Board Updates <br />a. Budget discussions will start in July. <br />b. Changes to PPLAB coming in November. Susan Loo is term limited <br />and will be leaving as our staff liaison in November. <br />6. Public Comments on Items Not on Agenda: Michael Fargano <br />(Louisville's Bocce facilitator) shared the need for court and rail <br />repairs/upgrades, maintenance as well as signage. Michael requested <br />to be placed on the agenda at a future meeting. A suggestion was <br />made to place temporary signage near courts to remind public of the <br />intent for use, and to discourage pets and young children from <br />playing in courts. <br />7. Review Park Naming Contest Results and Discuss Selection of Names <br />a. The Board appreciated the enthusiastic participation and <br />feedback from the community! <br />b. After considering many nominations for each park, the Board <br />discussed priorities for new park names and narrowed down top <br />choices. <br />
