1) The Board decided not to name parks after historical people or <br />local residents to avoid showing favoritism. Board decided that <br />memorial benches are a good opportunity to honor these <br />residents. <br />2) The Board also decided to clarify locations of parks through <br />new names, if possible or relevant. <br />3) 'Bocce Park' was not chosen for Park 5 (Sagebrush Park) as <br />Michael Fargano indicated this is not used for City <br />tournaments or play. <br />c. With priorities in mind, below are the recommended park names <br />selected by PPLAB for City Council approval. <br />1) From Wildridge to Sunflower Park <br />2) From Wildflower to Owl Park <br />3) From Saratoga 2 to Tyler Park <br />4) From Saratoga 1 to Hoover Park <br />5) From Sagebrush Park to Pallino Park <br />6) Stay with the name Mission Greens Park <br />7) From Heritage B to Hackberry Park <br />8) From Cedarwood Park to Hutchinson Park <br />9) Stay with the name Elephant Park <br />8. Review and Discuss the Draft Memo to City Council on the <br />Subdivision Entry Landscape Capital Improvement <br />a. The Board reviewed the draft memo of the subdivision entry <br />landscape capital improvement program and approved the draft. <br />b. The goal of this memo is to put in writing a formal approach to <br />the entry improvements and to inform City Council of this <br />approach. <br />9. Discussion on Invite to Join the Outdoor Recreational Amenities <br />Subcommittee <br />a. The Outdoor Recreational Amenities Subcommittee (ORAS) will be <br />a subcommittee that will lead community outreach on needed <br />recreational amenities in parks in preparation of related <br />upcoming master plans. <br />b. The Board nominated Ezra Paddock to serve as PPLAB's <br />representative to this subcommittee. Ellen Toon and Laurie <br />Harford will serve in Ezra's absent if needed, on an alternating <br />basis. <br />
