Golf Course Strategic Plan, Staffing and Dashboard
Coal Creek Golf Course Strategic Plan
• Nathan Mosely stated the need to update the Golf Course financial plan.
He noted the importance of obtaining a structural analysis of the
clubhouse as a contributing factor to the Strategic Plan.
Dashboard
• David Baril highlighted Dashboard items, including rounds played,
revenue per round, and filling "dead times". A discussion occurred
regarding improving the degree to which The Sweet Spot is meeting the
needs of the golfing and local communities.
• Michele Van Pelt requested that the "number of members" be added to the
Dashboard. She also raised the issue of discussing with the City Council
Finance Committee methods of allocating revenue that would better
enable this Board to deal with budget and planning going forward, for both
the Golf Course and the Recreation Center.
Recreation Staff and Construction Update
Staff Update
• Paul Borth presented an update regarding the pool needs of the High
School swim team. Michele Van Pelt brought up the oftentimes conflicting
needs of the pre -work recreational swimmers. All agreed that there needs
to be a clearly defined recommendation from this Board with regards to
the prioritizing of facilities allocation.
Programming, Punch List and VE
• Kathy Martin highlighted the latest punch list. Progress is occurring.
Among other items of note, shades for the upper west part of the building
were ordered.
• The newest Dashboard was analyzed. A column will be added to compare
the results to budget. Allocations were discussed and, as noted above,
are not as useful to this Board as they might be if presented differently.
• The impact of the Silver Sneakers program on senior use of our facilities
and the budget were discussed.
3
