City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 18, 2008 <br />Page 6 of 9 <br />SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE, Becky <br />Hogan, EDge Consulting <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting, 56 Steele Street, Denver, CO introduced two <br />new business owners in the Colorado Technology Center. <br />Bryan Schramm, Sundrop Fuel Inc., 1722 Boxelder Street, Louisville, CO <br />explained they are a clean energy technology company, which focuses on <br />producing clean and renewable fuels. There new facility, which is predominately <br />a research and testing site, has been open since August 17. <br />Mark Marolli, Chief Engineer for Sundrop Fuel Inc., explained they are a <br />renewable energy technology company and voiced his appreciation to be located <br />in Louisville. <br />Ms. Hogan reported on economic development in Louisville for September and <br />October: Kable Fullfillment was purchased by Palmcoast Data and will be <br />leaving Louisville in approximately 18 months; GXH (Global Health Care <br />Exchange) is utilizing the Colorado First Funding for job training money and <br />plans to further expand their business in Louisville; Gaiam has officially located in <br />the City; McStain will be closing their operations in Louisville and Beef O'Brady's <br />will be opening in December. <br />Ms. Hogan will give Council a year end report at the December 9 study session. <br />ORDINANCE No. 1544, SERIES 2008 - AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 3.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO <br />IMPOSE THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION TAX AS APPROVED BY THE <br />VOTERS AT THE NOVEMBER 4, 2008 ELECTION, AND ESTABLISHING THE <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION FUND - 1St Reading -Set Public Hearing <br />12/2/08 <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1544, Series 2008 and explained the <br />ordinance is presented to Council as an emergency ordinance in order for the <br />new tax to take effect on January 1. The second reading and public hearing is <br />scheduled for December 2, and by Council, the ordinance can go into effect <br />immediately without the normal 30-day waiting period. <br />Public Relations Manager Muth reported on the November 17, 2008 Historic <br />Preservation Commission meeting, where the Commission discussed how to <br />prioritize new preservation programs to be funded by tax proceeds.
