Recreation Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />March 18, 2019 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Administration's request for time usage, which was 6-7:30a.m., using all 6 lanes <br />of the main pool, but stated that the request was flexible. Several parents and <br />swim team members voiced opinions that differed from the school's time <br />requests, and from each other. Gene Kutscher pointed out that letters received <br />by the Recreation Advisory Board and the staff cited safety, but were in conflict <br />with each other regarding which times were safer for the students. He noted that <br />ultimately the pool staff, school, students and parents need to plan for safety <br />regardless of the final schedule. Lisa Norgard thanked everyone for their input. <br />City Council Update <br />There was no update at this meeting. <br />Golf Course Strategic Plan, Staffing and Dashboard <br />Dashboards <br />• Nathan Mosely presented the newest format for the Dashboards, which <br />was received very positively. <br />Golf Course Strategic Plan <br />• Nathan Mosely distributed The Coal Creek Golf Course Operational Work <br />Plan, which was reviewed. He noted that capital proposals are receiving <br />ongoing attention. In response to a question, he added that a new area for <br />chemical storage is in the capital budget proposal, and there is money to <br />analyze the adequacy of the golf clubhouse. <br />Recreation Staff and Construction Update <br />Staff Update <br />• Based on the earlier discussions, a motion was made to support the idea <br />of keeping the Monarch High School swim team hours as 6:30-7:45 a.m., <br />but to add a fifth dedicated lane out of the 6 for them in the lap pool, plus <br />keep a dedicated lane for them at that time in the smaller pool. <br />Motion: Kutscher <br />Second: DeBarros <br />The motion passed 6-1 with Van Pelt opposed <br />• After discussion, The Recreation Advisory Board felt it is important to <br />develop a Priority of Use Document for the Recreation Center facilities as <br />a recommendation guideline for staff. A working committee will be formed <br />to commence this process. <br />
