2020 Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board Questionnaire
Page 3 of 3
LCity,/
Louisville
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
5. APPLYING FOR REAPPOINTMENT ONLY: Should you be reappointed, what
current projects would you like to see the Board accomplish in your next
term? (please limit to 300 words)
My goal is to see through the Subdivision Entry Landscape Improvement Program as well as the
Median Landscape Renovations. The last time I interviewed with council for this board, I
mentioned subdivision entries as an issue for the overall aesthetics of the city. I was part of the
subcommittee that worked with Dean to help establish guidelines for this program and would like
to remain a member of the board as this program continues. Median Landscape Renovations is
another issue that affects the overall aesthetics of the city. My position on both of these programs
has been to keep the design simple and consistent, with low maintenance/low cost being a
priority. The last couple of summers, the city has not had the number of personnel needed for
landscape maintenance. Adding landscape that will require lots of personnel to maintain is not
only costly, but unrealistic at this time. Simple landscape plans can look pleasing, yet not be
costly to install or maintain and would hopefully have longer life spans with less replacement
materials needed.
15
