OROYNAuc ' ,I t. 89. <br /> AN ORDINANCE ,CONCERNING TIE BOARD OF HEALTH AND HEALTH OFFICERS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF LOUIS- <br /> , VILLE:' <br /> Section 1.. The Board of Trustees shall, as soon as practicable after <br /> its organization in each year appoint a duly qualified and licensed <br /> physician as physician ,to the Board of Health of the Town of Louis- <br /> ville, who shall be the Health Officer of said Town, and who shall <br /> hold his such office during the pleasure of the Board of Trustees <br /> of said town acting as the Board of Health. <br /> Section 2. That sue,h Health Officer shall receive as compensation <br /> for his services the sum of one Hundred Dollars per annum payable. <br /> in monthly installments and shall perform such duties , and exercise <br /> such, powers appertaining to his said office as may be conferred or <br /> imposed upon him by law, and, such other duties As may be required <br /> of him by the ordinances of said Town or by the Board of Health <br /> thereof.; <br /> Section 3. It shall be his duty to promptly report to the said <br /> Board of Health all infractions of the health laws within the Town <br /> of Louisville as are under the jurisdiction of such Board of Health, <br /> and also all violations of health ordinances or rules and regulations <br /> made by such Board of Health. He shall make a written monthly re- <br /> port to the Board of Trustees at its regular monthly session of <br /> all placards of contagious diseases posted by him and of all dis- <br /> infection and fumigations performed by him as such Health Officer, <br /> and shall give the particulars as to the names of the particulars <br /> as to the names of the persons quarantined or released from quar- <br /> intine, the name of the 'disease , and the physician or other person <br /> reporting the same, the date of posting, the date of removal of <br /> the placard notice of any such disease; and shall also make a state- <br /> ment of the kind and quantity of the materials used by him for <br /> disinfection or fumigation in any case where the cost of such mat- <br /> erials are charged to the Town of Louisville. Such report shall <br /> also contain the name of any person professionally attended by him <br /> as such Health Officer in emergency cases upon the call of any <br /> officer of the said ,Town, and the particulars of any such case. <br /> Such Health Officer without additional compensation than as herein <br /> provided, shall temporarily attend to such emergency cases in said <br /> Town, whether of disablement of any person of the illness of any <br /> person supported at the public expense in said Town, as, may be <br /> required of him by the said Board of Health or any member -thereof" <br /> or of any member of the Health Committee of the Board of Trustees, <br /> and shall, when required by the Board of .Trustees , without additional <br /> compensation than as herein provided, make examination of any person <br /> as to any injury claimed by any such person to be due to default <br /> or neglect of the said Town, and shall make a report thereof to the <br /> Board of Trustees at its next meeting. And such Health Officer <br /> shall in general be active in the effort to preserve and improve <br /> the healthfulness of the Town of Louisville , and shall examine <br /> into and report upon all instances of nuisance and filth observed <br />
