McCaslin Blvd. <br /> <br />VI. AUTHORITY BUSINESS <br /> <br />Request to Change or Modify Premises - Sam's West, Inc., d/b/a Sam's Club #6229 - <br />550 S. McCaslin Blvd. <br /> <br />Attorney Light reviewed the Application to Modify Premises for Sam's Club #6229, 550 S. McCaslin <br />Blvd. Sam's Club is currently licensed for 3.2% beer. Their request is to eliminate from the licensed <br />premises 1690 square feet, which would be the area for a proposed retail liquor store license. <br /> <br />Mr. Alan Dill, of Dill Dill Can' Stonbraker & Hutchings, the law firm representing the applicant, Flatiron <br />Discount Liquors, on the matter of the retail liquor store license, spoke regarding the modification <br />request. Mr. Dill explained that the current 3.2% Beer License was issued to Sam's Club. The 1690 <br />square feet modification of premises would permit Richard Eisenberg to contract with Sam's Club, to <br />operate a retail liquor store. <br /> <br />Kimmett asked if the location of the 3.2% beer would change if the retail liquor license were granted. <br /> <br />The Secretary swore in the witness Cody Mitchell, General Manager of the Louisville Sam's Club. <br /> <br />Cody Mitchell stated that if the application for a Retail Liquor Store license is granted the organization <br />will make a decision, based on business conditions, whether to retain the 3.2% Beer License. Mr. <br />Mitchell explained that the Sam's Club has received many requests from its customers for liquor <br />products, such as are available at the Loveland and Arvada stores. <br /> <br />Attorney Light asked Mr. Mitchell to outline the procedures for the exit and entrance door for Sam's <br />Club, which are located in the rear of the store and which employees have access to those controls. <br /> <br />Mr. Mitchell stated that the receiving office, which is located in the rear of the store, has windows to <br />identify when a shipment is received. Any manager or receiving office personnel has access to the <br />electronic mechanism, which controls the rear doors. <br /> <br />Attorney Light asked Mr. Mitchell to describe the modification of the premises to permit a liquor store. <br /> <br />Mr. Mitchell stated that a 14-foot chain link fence would be constructed around the area, with a locking <br />gate. The Retail Liquor Store applicant, Richard Eisenberg would have a key to the lock. One wall of the <br />liquor store will be a brick wall the three remaining sides will be chain link fence with woven slats <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
