City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 17, 2020 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br />of an upcoming financial package for Covid-19 and includes giving more people access to <br />SNAP programs with increased unemployment levels and increases in health care levels <br />to address the current issues. Additional rounds of legislation will be coming. <br /> <br />Mayor Stolzmann reminded people there is a lot of information available for people on the <br />City’s website and people should check that frequently. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lipton stated recovery from the pandemic will require the City to do a <br />financial check and be conservative looking at what revenue is coming and what we are <br />committing to spend out of reserves. He feels the City should use an abundance of <br />caution moving forward. He added he wants to pay particular interest to small businesses <br />and help them connect to Federal and State resources and anything we can do locally. <br /> <br />Councilmember Leh encouraged everyone to socially distance as much as possible. He <br />agreed the Council will work to find help for businesses. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dickinson agreed this will be a long process and difficult for small <br />businesses but the City will do what it can to help. <br /> <br />Councilmember Fahey encouraged people to buy gift cards online to help businesses. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Balser reminded everyone to socially distance. She reminded people to <br />check the City’s website for updates and sign up for enotifications. She stated staff is <br />working to connect businesses to available resources. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 24, SERIES 2020 – A RESOLUTION <br />ESTABLISHING A COTTONWOOD PARK TASK FORCE TO PROVIDE ADVISORY <br />RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE MASTER PLAN FOR COTTONWOOD PARK – moved <br />from consent regular <br /> <br />Mayor Stolzmann introduced the item and noted Councilmember Leh has a suggested <br />edit. <br /> <br />Councilmember Leh stated a resident reached out and was concerned the task force <br />would be moving forward during the pandemic. Councilmember Leh reassured everyone <br />this is only authorizing the task force; the work will not start until people can participate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Leh added he would like a Council liaison for the Task Force or have a <br />Councilmember appointed to the committee. <br />
