Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: July 31, 2000 <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />Authority Attorney Kelly informed members that the applicant has responded to all deficiencies <br />noted in her memorandum dated June 9, 2000 and that this applicant will also need to provide <br />lease documents exeCuted with the landlord after their store opening. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked Mr. Donnelly if the restaurant will include a sit-down bar area. Mr. <br />Donnelly stated there willbe a sit-down bar area. Jeffers asked the seating capacity of the <br />restaurant. Mr. Donnelly stated that including the patio area, they can seat apProximately 144. <br />Member Jeffers asked about the restaurant hours. Mr. Donnelly stated the hours would be <br />1 la.m. to 10p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked what kind of liquor training would be provided for staff. Mr. Donnetly <br />responded that staff is trained the week before opening and that he is responsible for the ongoing <br />liquor training, of managers for the first month after opening. Mr. Donnelly continued that the <br />downtown Denver store avera?g alcohol sales of 15% due to their location near Coors Field and <br />that they are very aware of liquor laws and enforcement. Member Jeffers commented that based <br />on the Louisville Wahoo's proximity to the movie theaters, the applicant will need to exercise <br />care. · ~ <br /> <br />Attorney Kelly informed the applicant that the Authority requires staff that handle liquor to <br />annually attend one of the Louisville/Lafayette joint liquor training sessions. She added that <br />proof of attendance is required at the time of each renewal. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if there were any interested parties in the audience who wished to <br />speak in favor of the application. The applicant, <br />Mr. Donnelly, thanked the Authority for their consideration and stated he had no further <br />comments. <br /> <br />ChairpersOn Myers closed the public heating and called for member discussion and comments. <br /> <br />Member Turner moved that the Local Licensing Authority of the City of LouiS'cille find that the <br />applicant is of goOd moral character, that the inhabitants of the neighborhood desire the license <br />be granted, that the license will meet the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, that all <br />City and state law requirements have been met and that, based on these findings, the Local <br />Licensing Authority approve issuance of a hotel and restaurant license for Baja in the Rockies, <br />LLC, doing business as Wahoo's Fish Taco contingent on receipt by the Authority of an <br />executed lease agreement after the intended opening. Jeffers seconded the motion. Roll Call <br />Vote: Evans - yes, Turner - yes, Myers - yes, JefferS - yes. All members were in favor, motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
