Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: January 29, 2001 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />E. Designation of Places for Posting of Notice of Public Meetings <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked Deputy City Clerk Bolte if a current certificate of good standing was received for <br />Bungalow Liquors, Inc., d/b/a Bungalow Wine & Spirits. Bolte stated that the licensee's attorney Michael <br />Rennich was working with the Secretary of State's office and that a copy of the certificate would be forwarded <br />upon receipt. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers moved to approve the Consent Agenda contingent on Bungalow Wine & Spirits providing the <br />letter of good standing to the Authority Secretary. Vice Chairperson Lipton seconded the motion. All members <br />were in favor, motion carried. <br /> <br />VI. AUTHORITY BUSINESS <br /> <br />· Public Hearing - Taj Mahal III, Inc., d/b/a Taj Mahal III - Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License - <br /> 1075 S. Boulder Road. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton opened the public hearing on the application for a Hotel and Restaurant liquor license <br />at 1075 S. Boulder Road, Louisville, Colorado, under the business name ofTaj Mahal III. <br /> <br />Lipton asked the applicant to come forward. Ms. Dee Melior, Broker for Prudential Legend Realty, Inc., came <br />forward and stated that she represented Cancun Mexican Restaurant out of Boulder and that her client has a <br />contract to purchase the premises currently occupied by Taj Mahal III. <br /> <br />Ms. Melior stated that she learned just prior to the hearing this evening that the two owners of Taj Mahal III, <br />scheduled to present testimony, would not be present. She was told that one owner was ill, and the other owner <br />was working in the restaurant's kitchen. Ms. Mellor stated that an employee from Taj Mahal III and their real <br />estate agent, Mr. Pierre Elie of Elico were present. She urged the Authority to hold the hearing on the Taj Mahal <br />III application for a new Hotel & Restaurant liquor license. Ms. Melior stated that her client has already <br />purchased furnishings for the restaurant and that the ability to transfer an existing liquor license would exp.edite <br />the opening of Cancun Mexican Restaurant. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton asked the employee of Taj Mahal III to come forward. Mr. Palden Tsering stated his <br />name and that he is a waiter at Taj Mahal III. Mr. Tsering confirmed to the Authority that one owner was sick <br />and the other was at the restaurant cooking in the kitchen. <br /> <br />Authority Attorney Kathleen Kelly stated that there are certain burdens that must be met by the applicant during <br />the public hearing process. She asked if anyone present on behalf ofTaj Mahal III was prepared to offer <br />testimony as to the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood and the desires of the adult inhabitants of the <br />City. <br /> <br />There was no response. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers moved to continue the public hearing on the new application for a Hotel and Restaurant liquor <br />license for Taj Mahal III, Inc., d/b/a Taj Mahal III, 1075 S. Boulder Road, to the next regularly scheduled <br />meeting to be held on February 26, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor Council Chambers of City Hall, 749 Main <br />Street, Louisville, Colorado.
