In response to residents voicing concern about a group of coyotes that are sick with
mange in the area of Walnut Park, Rangers and staff have been working closely with
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to monitor the animals and assess their health.
This effort has resulted in a wealth of photographs from two motion -activated
cameras and helpful information about how coyotes use Open Space corridors to
move through Louisville and conduct their daily activities. CPW district wildlife
managers will perform on -site visits this week to determine next management steps
for the coyotes. Staff are coordinating with the Police Department to ensure public
safety during these visits.
Education/Volunteer:
Past volunteer events:
A.
