Louisville Local Licensing Authority
Meeting Date: July 30, 2001

Inc. #465 - Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License - 585 McCaslin Blvd.

Renewal Application - Holly & Mike's Ribs, Inc., d/b/a Hickory Sticks - Hotel &
Restaurant Liquor License - 1000 S. Boulder Road.

Member Kimmett questioned the lease expiration date on the renewal application for Druids Arms,
which stated 31/12/2003. Deputy City Clerk Bolte stated that it was an acceptable practice to use
European dates that reflect the day, month and year. Member Sackett questionedf it was routine
practice to approve a renewal application when there is a Show Cause hearing pending. Authority
Attorney Harrington stated that it was up to the Authority to either approve the renewal or to
schedule the renewal for a hearing.

Member Kimmett asked the date the renewal application for Hickory Sticks was filed. Bolte stated
that the application was filed on July 26th. Member KJmmett asked if there was additional
information concerning the status of their sales tax. Bolte stated that the only information available
was contained in the memo from Dianne Ray, which is included in the member packets. Bolte also
stated that the licensee indicated on the renewal application that the lease expires in December 2002,
but the lease on file with the City expires in December 2001. Bolte stated that legal possession of
the premises is required for the full year of the liquor license. She continued that Michael Davis
contacted her by phone today and indicated that a copy of the amended lease agreement would be
faxed today. As of the meeting time, the amended lease agreement had not been received.

Vice Chairperson Koertje asked if there had been any bad checks issued since the May 15, 2001
Show Cause hearing. Bolte stated that information Finance Director Dianne Ray reported on in
May would have been for payments received through March. The letter contained in the member
packets reflects payments received through May 2000.

Sergeant Riggins stated that he wished to have Louisville Detective Jay Lanphere address the
Authority regarding a criminal investigation he is conducting concerning Hickory Sticks.

Attorney Harrington stated that the Authority should consider removing Hickory Sticks from the
Consent Agenda and placing the item under Authority Business. In that manner, the Authority
could approve the remaining Consent Agenda items and have further discussion concerning Hickory
Sticks as a separate item under Authority Business.

Member Kimmett moved that item (C) of the Consent Agenda be removed and placed under
Authority Business as item OD). Member Sackett seconded the motion. All members were in favor,
motion carried.

Member I~mmett moved to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. Member Sackett seconded
the motion. All members were in favor, motion carried.

VI.
