Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />October 28, 2020 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />Discussion/Direction/Action — Fees for Legal Services <br />The LRC is a separate legal entity and has a separate contract with Kelly PC for <br />legal services. Fees are part of the operational budget. The new proposed fees <br />are in keeping with inflation and are based on the consumer price index. <br />Council member Lipton made a motion to approve the 2021 legal fees with <br />Kelly PC. Commissioner Bradfield seconded. <br />Roll call vote: <br />Council member Lipton - yes <br />Commissioner Bradfield - yes <br />Commissioner Adler - yes <br />Chair Fisher - yes <br />Commissioner Tofte - yes <br />Commissioner Gorsevski - yes <br />Motion passes <br />• Discussion/Direction — 2020 Work Plan <br />Chair Fisher, Commissioner Adler and Director Pierce wanted feedback from <br />the group before incorporating a new direction into the Work Plan document. <br />They wanted to be more strategic and moved tasks that Director Pierce can <br />perform, keeping strategic items on the Work Plan. <br />Feedback that Director Pierce received was that the LRC would like to make an <br />impact with investment of funds and that could be accomplished through <br />funding streetscape and connectivity projects. Connectivity is a big priority; <br />getting people to the URA. Director Pierce believes the LRC can make a <br />noticeable impact and provided a list of potential projects in the packet on <br />pages 27 and 28. <br />The City has an existing wayfinding plan. Examples included in the packet. <br />This can become a focus of future planning, getting estimates on signs, etc. <br />Director Pierce has made some general cost increases, and included utility <br />work, etc. If the LRC wants to undertake this project, there would be an <br />agreement with the City that LRC would undertake programming, with a specific <br />amount allocated by the LRC. <br />Commissioner Bradfield believes connectivity is a significant item for the LRC. <br />He would like to add a column to the matrix to include connectivity. He believes <br />the LRC should spend money on things that add strategic value to the City and <br />help the economic engine of the City. He believes the LRC should strategically <br />think about what it means to be a 21st century city. For instance, is there a way <br />Agenda Packet P. 5 <br />
