SUBJECT: SIGNAGE AND WAYFINDING

<br />Please recall that the "Phase 1 Wayfinding Signage" project has been incorporated in
<br />the proposed 2021 Budget for a cost of $130,000. The signage for this phase was taken
<br />directly from the existing plan and includes: secondary monument signs (2), tertiary
<br />monument signs (2), directory kiosks (2), pedestrian pole mounted signs (1), and
<br />vehicular pole mounted signs (5). Staff used cost estimates from Arthouse Design done
<br />in 2017 to project the 2021 budget for an initial phase of work. The table below displays
<br />the original cost estimate by each sign type, and then staff has added the three columns
<br />at the right for the LRC's budget discussions.

<br />Staff's next step in this area is to contact the sign company previously involved for
<br />updated project quotes. This will provide an updated project cost as well as a better
<br />sense of future sign costs. Economic vitality staff will also set meetings with Planning
<br />and Public Works to begin work on the specific site locations; the original plan only
<br />provides general areas.
<br />RECOMMENDATION:
<br />Review the City's Signage & Wayfinding Plan and provide any questions or feedback to
<br />staff.
