o The City Hall renovation has been budgeted at $1.5million in 2006. <br />C. Completing a remodel of City Shops <br />o The city has committed to a renovation of the City Shops building and allocated <br />$370,000 in 2006. Design began at the end of 2005. <br />D. Completing construction of a new Louisville Public Library. <br />o The new 32,500 square foot building is expected to be completed in June of 2006 and <br />occupied by August 1, 2006. <br />E. Reconstructing Dillon Road from 88`h to 104`h street over a 2 year period. <br />o Over $1.3 million dollars are budgeted in the Capital Projects Fund for the Dillon <br />road project in 2006. <br />F. Focus on Economic Development. <br />o The City has invested in a Business Development website and is working on a <br />strategic plan to boost the business retention and development effort in 2006. <br />G. Emphasizing the Windy Gap Firming Project to increase raw water storage. <br />o Funds to begin this project of $100,000 were budgeted in 2005 and over $6.7 million <br />are projected to be spent in 2006 and 2007 to increase water storage. <br />Long -Term Goals for City of Louisville <br />It is expressed in the Citywide Comprehensive Plan, updated and approved in 2005, <br />that the City of Louisville has the following as a long range (20 year) vision: <br />H. The City of Louisville will have a population of no more than approximately 23,000 <br />residents within the context of this 20 year time horizon. <br />I. The City of Louisville will maintain a balanced, sustainable economic position in the <br />region by enabling new and existing business and investments to thrive. <br />J. The City of Louisville will allow for diverse housing opportunities for all income levels <br />and life cycles. <br />K. The City of Louisville will capitalize on regional multi --modal transportation <br />opportunities, such as commuter rail and Bus Rapid Transit (RBT). <br />vii <br />
