VIII. Public Art
a. Public Art Committee Update - Mark and Beth will continue to determine
some possible good sights for a mural in and around town. Kim asked
about public art funds. Katie said we have $33,000 for public art. Funds
can be rolled over if we have signed contracts before Dec 31, 2020. Adam
said we have time to get things in place before the end of the year. Kim will
head this and Debbie will help. Adam, we need a proposal from the artists to
evaluate, get public comment and have approval from the city. Katie will
ask city council if they are ok for the LCC to determine appropriate artists
without the 45 day wait.
IX. Changes to the grant application to include artists compensation for the first
time. Kim asked about project budget artists submit for the grant. Artists
enrichment should be separate. Debbie suggested 2 different budgets for
different categories, project budget for enrichment or for the projects needs.
Recipients should fill out for one application for grant money. Kim agrees.
Leah inquired about outreach for artists that may not know they can apply
for grant funds for enrichment purposes. Katie said information is listed on
several city websites/emails/social media. DBA and Chamber receive all
communication from the council. Katie requested proof read of final
application, Kate will do that.
b.
